Today, Workzone is stepping into an exciting new chapter, and I’m thrilled to unveil our bold vision and new direction! This message was sent to our customers this morning, and we’re eager to bring it to you as we take this bold step forward.
Dear Customer,
Today marks a pivotal moment for Workzone, and I cannot wait to share why. But first, let me take a step back and share some context.
In December of last year, our company was acquired by the team at Big Band Software and I had the honor of joining Workzone as the new CEO.
In the first few months, we focused on two key goals:
- Goal #1: Doubling-down on what had made Workzone a trusted name in the Project Management Software space for over two decades
- Goal #2: Gaining a deep understanding of our customers’ needs – those who rely on our platform to power their organizations.
Over the past nine months, we’ve had conversations with hundreds of customers like you, supercharged our product, and made bold, future-defining decisions about the direction of Workzone.
I’m beyond excited to share this new focus and vision with you today:
Starting today, we are laser-focused on one mission: to become the undisputed leader in project management software for organizations that power the backbone of our society—Critical Industries.
We are committed to providing unmatched trust, reliability, and innovation to those sectors where failure is not an option—because the work you do shapes the future. This includes essential sectors like Education, Healthcare, Financial Services, Nonprofits, Infrastructure, Products & Services, and more—the industries that make our world run.
While we work with entire organizations operating in critical industries, we are doubling down on supporting vital teams like Marketing & Communications, Creative Agencies, Operations, PMO, Strategy, Core Units (e.g. R&D) and Back office.
As part of this vision we are also committing to an ambitious ten-year goal which is to see one project completed every second using Workzone—that equates to about 32 million projects completed every single year!
For comparison, today we see a project completed about every two and a half minutes in Workzone.
Why does this goal matter? Imagine the impact of a project completed every second on our communities. We’re not just talking about checking tasks off a list—we’re talking about real, tangible outcomes that benefit entire societies.
For example, a hospital setting up a new facility, or a university launching a groundbreaking program for underserved students, or a credit union announcing a new savings plan for communities hit hard by inflation. This is the future we’re committed to building together with you!
What does this new vision mean for you? For starters, doubling down onthe human support you’ve always received from our team to align with the “human-first” nature of critical industries. That means access to a support rep (human, not robot) in under 15 minutes, 1-1 PM coaching, unlimited training at no additional cost, and ongoing change management support.
Second, expect to see product features that may not belong to a typical PM tool but can significantly ramp up the effectiveness of critical industries and vital teams. Our goal is to make Workzone the operating system that powers your entire organization in a highly adaptable manner.
How is the product evolving with this vision? Today, we are announcing 3 strategic partnerships to turbocharge our product with the goal of assisting critical industries & vital teams.
ReviewStudio’s full suite of markup and proofing solutions will soon be available on Workzone’s Enterprise plan (at no additional cost) to power vital teams like marketing, communications, and creative agencies.
Mulesoft’s integration platform will now enable Workzone to connect with over 100 systems. This not only includes tools used by vital teams, like Slack, Teams, Quickbooks, Outlook, but also core systems used by critical industries thereby unifying workflows and data.
Vanta will help us up the game on security, compliance, and risk management, including achieving advanced SOC2 compliance.
What’s next?
